We spend the days working and traveling, few hours at home or with the children, spouse or friends, a bit of time to relax and eat, a bit of time to talk to family, maybe read something, listen or watch something… the time just doesn’t seem to be there for exercise. But it is possible and doable for all of us.
You’ll likely have friends and/or family members that have had to gather the strength and determination to overcome mental ill-health. The economic cost of Mental ill-health in 2020 was estimated to be in the region of £105 billion each year which is money that could be put into better health services if health, nutrition and fitness were generally given more of a role and appreciation in society. What we put into our bodies determines to a great degree our level of health and standing within society, eat well be well.
Revising a goal doesn’t necessarily mean changing it for something else. It could just be refining the goal taking into account your current situation and progress. This will recharge your desire to achieve what you set out to do.
So the plan is to hit the gym as soon as it opens on the 12th April (God willing). Its the same plan many men have but you’re different, you have a strategy or you will after reading this post to the end.
When the time comes around to set the table and knockback your favourite munch you may be under the illusion that the size of the pie is what counts i.e. the more you eat the worse-off you’ll be when you step on the scales. And did you know that the body can go for weeks without food, but without water, we wouldn’t last but some days?
It’s just about Spring again and you’re ready to lose a few pounds and get back to the fitness level you remember so well, those days when you could run fast enough to catch the next bus stop in no time. That’s all good, the determination is there and you have your gym wear ready but do you know what you want?
